Where Is Naghsh-E-Rajab Location ?
Naghsh-E-Rajab is located 13 km (15 minutes by car) north of Marvdasht city and 9.4 km north of Persepolis on the right side of Shahi road. The Royal Road was a highway 25 centuries ago that connected major cities such as Persepolis, Pasargadae, Susa, Shushtar and Ramhormoz to the city of Sard (capital of Lady) in the westernmost point of present-day Anatolia. The royal road was built by order of Darius the Great during the life of the great Achaemenid Empire and is the first international highway in the world.
Naghsh-E-Rajab is located in a mountain slope called Rahmat Mountain, which was located on the way from Persepolis to the city of Istakhr during the Sassanid period; Istakhr or Istkhr was one of the largest ancient cities of Iran and the birthplace of Ardeshir and Shapur. The distance from Naghsh Rajab to Shiraz is 67 km (54 minutes by car). This famous attraction is 854 km away from Tehran, which takes about 9 hours to drive.
