Persepolis (in persian پرسپولیس) was the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire. It is situated 60 kilometres northeast of the city of Shiraz in Fars Province, Iran. legendary city of Persepolis, is the former capital of Darius the Great and founded in 512 BC.
Perspolis is also known as TakhteJamshid too.
