How can i get a safe pen pal for teens?

 If you talk to your school or your kids school, they usually have Pen pal programs. Like you may write letters back and forth to kids in other school districts or other countries. 

In most cases though with High School students the programs prefer that you be studying other languages. Then you could write back and forth to someone in another language or a mix of English and another language so that you and the student in another country can strengthen your skills. Although, the student may be a few grades/years younger then the American student. 

( I have chatted with plenty of 6-12 year olds in other countries that had been working on English as a second or third language in school, but that was online not as a Pen pal).
